Getting Started in GoArmyEd

In order to be able to register for college classes in GoArmyEd Ed:

1. Complete initial registration in GoArmyEd (www.goarmyed.com). You can access the registration form by using the "New Users" button at the top of the GoArmyEd home page. At the end of this process, you will be given a username and password. It is important that you immediately log into GoArmyEd with your username and password. You will be asked to change your password to something which you might be able to remember. You username will never change. It is suggested that you write this information down somewhere for future use. After you complete the security questions, go back to you GoArmyEd homepage in order to do step 2.

2. Complete the Common Application. This is a generic online form. To find the Common Application scroll to the bottom of your GoArmyEd homepage. You will find two underlined sentences; the first on contains a link to the Common Application. Complete this form, doing the best you can with the dates, and submit it.

3. Print out the Statement of Understanding (SOU), which contains the rules regarding the use of Tuition Assistance. You sign it and your commander signs it. You then need to either bring it to the Education Center or efile it.

  • Click “My Student Record” (Left hand side of the screen)
  • Click “Account Information”
  • Click “eFile Tab” (Towards the middle top of the screen)
  • Click “Browse” (To find your file)

Name you document and select file type (Tuition Assistance Statement of Understanding for the SOU)

Insure to click the create a case button

4. Along with returning the SOU and this is important you need to provide the name of the school you will be working with and the specific degree program you will be pursuing. The education center counselor records in GoArmyEd that you returned the SOU and the information about the school and degree program. Once that is done, within 24hours (sometimes sooner) the system will allow you to register into classes that are part of your selected degree program.

You can review the schools and degree programs available through GoArmyEd by clicking on "Earn a Degree or credential" (on the left Sidebar); then "Colleges and Programs". A list of schools will appear. You can use the alphabet keys to move through the schools. Clicking on "view" will bring up a list of the degree programs being offered by a particular school. You can also use the "Search" button at the top of this page to look for specific degree programs.

Login/Password Problems: Call the helpdesk (can be called from a military phone with 99 access at 0-800-181-7814 or use the Lost Password feature)
