Barton Barracks Bismarck/Katterback Kasernes Shipton Kaserne llesheim (Storck Barracks) Step 1. Upon notification from the 64th replacement: - The Central Processing Facility (CPF) staff here will call your unit and inform it that it has a new soldier with or without family arriving in the community. CPF will give the unit the family structure, e.g. three kids, two dogs etc. This allows the unit to provide the appropriate size a vehicle to accommodate the your baggage, family members, etc., to comfortably transport you and your family to the lodging facility.
Step 2. Arrival of the soldier and his family to the CPF: - You and your family will be met by the designated greeter at the CPF and welcomed to the community and provided a "Welcome Packet". - CPF will introduce you and your family to your unit sponsor. - The soldier and his family will be given the opportunity to freshen up. - Once you're is settled, you will be instructed to have a seat in the Welcome Center classroom where the CPF staff will begin your initial administrative in-processing. - Your family will be seated in the Welcome Center lounge where they can relax, watch TV, etc., until your initial in-processing is complete. Step 3. Release of soldier to the sponsor upon completion of the initial in-processing: - Upon completion of the initial in-processing, you and your family are reunited with your sponsor and released. - You will return without your family on A+2 (arrival date plus two days), to in process through the various functional areas within the CPF. The areas are: Station 1. PSDR (Personnel Service Delivery Redesign). At this station, you will recertify/change information as necessary on your Service members' Group Life Insurance (SGLI) and DD 93 Emergency Data Notification form. Station 2. Finance (39th). At this station you will settle your travel voucher and all out of pocket expenses you will paid for will be claimed at this time. You will also process other finance services like BAH recertification for eligible recipients. Station 3. Housing Office. All service members, with command sponsored family members, and unaccompanied personnel in the grades E7 and above, must in process at the Housing Office. Service members will be placed on the appropriate waiting and offered available quarters. To get a general idea of what type of housing is available and the associated waiting time, go to “Army One Stop Website” DOD civilians are encouraged to process in through the Housing Office for housing assistance. Temporary lounging is available at the Franconian Inn (Army Lodging), 34 Rooms available; phone number is DSN 467-2812 or commercial/ civilian +49 (0)-9802-832-812. Station 4. Transportation Office. If you who have shipped household goods and/or a POV you will process this station. You will be informed as to whether your shipment has arrived and be given an appointment for delivery of your property. Station 5. ID card. At this station the your ID card will be updated with the appropriate Common Access Card (CAC) data. Station 6. Installation Access Control System (IACS). If your coming from CONUS, you will process this station. Your I.D. card and right index finger will be scanned. This process make its it possible to enter military installation in Europe Station 7. Central Processing. Upon completing all of this, you will be provided your In-processing Training Center (ITC) and German "Headstart" class schedule.
Step 4. In-processing Training Center, (ITC): - The ITC class begins on Monday mornings at 0800. - The CPF Manger address the class and brief them on the policies as they pertain to their accountability i.e. IAW GEN BB policy letter # 20, only the first General Officer (GO) in the chain is authorized to excuse a soldier from ITC. - Attendees are then given an overview of the facilities located within the building and on the installation and provided the ITC bus schedule which will get you to the dining facility, to the Welcome Center and back to your installation at the end of the training day.
Step 5. German Headstart Program: - The second week of ITC consist of the German Headstart portion of the course. Spouses are allowed to attend the German Headstart with their sponsors on a space available basis, as well as, any of the briefings and drivers orientation and testing with the sponsor. - You are given an introduction to the German culture and language. - You will go on a tour of the city. - During the tour attempt to order a meal in the host nation language, ask for directions etc. (The tour is conducted in civilian clothes) * Upon completion of the ITC/German Headstart course, graduation is conducted and you are provided a course completion certificate which is worth eight promotion points.
